Catherine as Olympic Ambassador
In her role as an Olympic Ambassador, The Duchess of Cambridge appeared all confidence and smiles, when she was invited onto the hockey pitch to train with the GB women’s hockey team during a private visit to the new Olympic Park in Stratford, London.
Dressed in coral-coloured skinny jeans, Olympic hoodie and trainers, the Duchess, who was captain of her school hockey team, impressed the crowd when she demonstrated her fielding and goal scoring skills at the Riverside Arena. The Duchess scored on her fourth attempt at goal and was declared a ‘natural’ by the team members.
The Duchess arrived at the ground dressed in the same skinny jeans, but with high heels, blazer and official Olympic scarf. She posed for photographs with the GB men’s hockey team, who are ranked fourth in the world, before meeting with the physios and coaches, and making a brief tour of the Olympic Park.
It was after receiving a team top emblazoned with ‘Cambridge 1’ that Duchess realised she would then have to actually play hockey.
Catherine will represent the Great British team as an official ambassador during the London Olympics and Paralympics 2012, along with Prince William and Prince Harry.
A Team GB Activity Handbook, a London 2012 Olympic Games Activity Book and the Official London 2012 Olympics Guide are just some of the items available to buy online through The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee online store.
