Royal Tea Towel Approval

Jan 2011

The Royal household have announced that there will be an official tea towel manufactured to celebrate the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Prior to the official announcement there had been speculation about what was acceptable as memorabilia and what was deemed by the palace as undignified.

Mugs, plates, biscuit tins and porcelain pills pots, deemed as long lasting items, are considered appropriate and something that could be cherished for years.

Aprons, t-shirts and cushions were branded as disposable and have not been granted official approval .

The official tea towel will be a plain white cloth, made from linen, featuring the inter-twined initials of Prince William and Catherine Middleton and will cost around £8.
