Third Day of the Royal Tour
Jul 2011
On the third day of their Royal Tour, Prince William and Catherine planted a hemlock tree in the grounds of Canada’s Government House, Ottawa.
This was the first time William and Catherine have ‘officially’ planted a tree and the couple, clearly enjoying the experience, shared the shovelling! Poignantly, the hemlock tree was planted close to where Prince Charles and Princess Dianna planted a tree on Prince William’s first birthday, in June 1983.
The Royal Couple later joined a reception for Canadian war veterans, servicemen and their families and, afterwards flew to Montreal, Quebec, where they visited a children’s hospital and helped to prepare a meal at a catering college.
