Visit to Royal Marsden
Sep 2011
On 29 September 2011, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the Royal Marsden Hospital in Surrey to open the new Oak Centre for Children and Young People.
It was a beautiful day and, as The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at the Oak Centre, they looked relaxed and very much at ease. Catherine looked stunning in her elegant cream shift dress.
The Royal Couple spent time with some of the inspirational patients and staff at the Oak Centre, before officially declaring the new building open.
The Royal Marsden is a world-leading cancer centre, of which The Duke has been President since 2007. William’s mother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales previously held the position.
In 2005 Prince William carried out work experience at the Royal Marsden where he spent time on the children’s unit.
